This versatile writer, cultural critic and lecturer at Pompeu Fabra University is one of the most prominent writers of the Catalan generation born in the seventies.

Jorge Carrión (Tarragona, 1976) holds a Doctorate in Humanities from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, where he teaches contemporary literature, creative writing and cultural journalism. From 2000 to 2005 he was a member of the editorial board of the now defunct magazine Lateral, and from 2006 to 2009 he co-directed the literary journal Quimera.

He has been a contributor to the “Cultura/s” cultural supplement of the newspaper La Vanguardia and the magazine Letras Libres for over ten years. As an essayist, he has published three books: Viaje contra Espacio. Juan Goytisolo y W.G. Sebald (Iberoamericana, 2009), Teleshakespeare (Errata Naturae, 2011), and Librerías (Finalist in the 2013 Anagrama Essay Prize). He has edited the compilations El lugar de Piglia. Crítica sin ficción (Candaya, 2008), Madrid / Barcelona. Literatura y ciudad(Iberoamericana, 2009) and Riplay (with Reinaldo Laddaga, Adriana Hidalgo, 2014), and written several travel books including Australia (Berenice, 2008) and Crónica de viaje (Aristas Martínez, 2014), as well as the novel trilogy Los muertos, Los huérfanos and Los turistas (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2014-2015).

He is co-curator, with Pablo Helguera, of the exhibition "The Sebald Variations", and an advisor to the Kosmopolis festival.
