Javier Sanjinés
Associate Professor of Latin American Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Michigan.
(La Pau, Bolivia). Associate Professor of Latin American Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Michigan, this eminent Bolivian intellectual has focused his research on the articulation of the cultures of the Andes through the integration of political, cultural and social variables. More generally, he has also researched the development of Latin American literature and culture in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. He has written Literatura Contemporánea y Grotesco Social en Bolivia (Contemporary Literature and Social Grotesquery in Bolivia, 1992), and Franz Tamayo and the Aesthetic Politics in Modern Andean Bolivia (forthcoming, University of Pittsburgh Press).
