Javier Negrete

Javier Negrete holds a degree in Classical Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is a secondary school teacher, currently teaching in Plasencia, Cáceres. He has translated from English a number of short stories and science fiction novels for several Spanish magazines and publishing companies

His literary production began in 1992 with the publication of La luna quieta and Estado crepuscular (1993), winner of the Ignotus and Gigamesh prizes for the best science fiction short story of 1994. In 1996 he published Lux Aeterna and Nox Perpetua; these were followed by La mirada de las Furias (1997) -winner of the Ignotus Prize 1998-, Memoria de dragon (2000), Buscador de sombras (2000), El mito de Er (2001) -finalist for the Edebé prizes (1999), the Ignotus Prize (2000) and the La Sonrisa Vertical Prize (2000), amongst others-, La Espada de Fuego (2003) and Los héroes de Kalanúm (2003).
