Arising from the Simpl3 (CCS) and No-Domain (BCN) movements, Jahbitat is the centre of graphic-sound production comprising beatmaker Simon Williams (Ciudad de Guatemala, 1979) and graphic artist Nelson "Junior" Martínez (Glasgow, 1981), both of whom grew up in the cultural and environmental mix of Caracas, Venezuela, a place where creation feeds on the constant battle between concrete chaos and natural beauty.
After taking part in various sound and visual projects in the ninth Sonar Festival, they decided to move to Barcelona in summer 2002. Their discs include Fingernails (thedirtbeneath'em remix) (2003), Durazno (2004) and Tonadas (2004), an EP with six electronic instrumental hip hop tracks, with the musical collaboration of Fibla (spa.RK) and Manuvers (Botánica del Jíbaro).
At Kosmopolis 2004 they will be presenting their work La banda audiovisual de la Generación Beat, with the collaboration of photographer Javier Tles, based on Jack Kerouac's On the Road.
