Poet, translator and literary critic. He is a graduate of Philosophy and doctor in Translation Theory from the Universitat AutÚnoma de Barcelona.

Francesc Parcerisas i Vázquez (Begues, 1944) is a poet, translator and literary critic. He is a lecturer at the Department of Translation and Interpreting of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) , where he has previously been vice-director and head of the Department of Translation.

A prominent member of the literary generation of the 1970s, he has published, among others, the books of poems Homes que es banyen (1966), L'edat d'or (1984), Focs d'octubre (1992) and Natura morta amb nens (2000). His work has merited numerous awards: Carles Riba, 1966; Joan Alcover, 1975; Catalan Poetry Critics’ prize, 1983; Catalan Government’s prize for Catalan Literature, 1983; the Lletra d'Or, 1991 and the Llibreter prize for Narrative, 2013. 

He has translated into Spanish and Catalan authors such as Cesare Pavese, Doris Lessing and Norman Mailer. He is well-known for his translations of El Senyor dels Anells (Lord of the Rings) and other works by J.R.R. Tolkien. 

Takes part in
