Emir Suljagi?

(Ljubovija, Serbia (Ex-Yugoslavia), 1975)

He studied Political Science in Sarajevo. In 2005 he obtained M.A. at the University of Bologna on social context of genocide. He joined the IFSH (Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy) as a PhD candidate funded by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) in 2006. His areas of research are war crime and mass murder in former Yugoslavia between 1991 and 1999.

He has worked as a journalist in the leading Bosnian weekly publication Dani for ten years before taking the position of Advisor to the Prime minister of Bosnia-Herzegovina in early 2006. He has published an account of events of Srebrenica -hw was one of the very few who could escape from the terrible slaughter being only seventeen- under the title Postales desde la tumba (2007) - Postcards from the Grave in English -, which has been published into several languages, including Spanish.
