Dolors Miquel
Dolors Miquel (Lleida, 1960) is a poet of lyricism that mixes poignant images drawn from the avant-garde, rural roots and everyday sketches. In her book Gitana Roc (Gypsy Roc) she points to the main terrain of her poetry: “I speak of the damage caused by social structures like the family or the police. Social love is the most shocking contract with fear, and also the most potent safeguard of society. Sex is the carrot. She has been awarded the Rosa Leveroni Prize (1989), The City of Barcelona Prize (2005) and the Gabriel Ferrater Prize (2006). Among her books are La dona que mirava la tele (The Woman Who Watched Telly, 2010) and La flor invisible (The Invisible Flower, 2011).
