Historian and Latin American political and international relations analyst
(Buenos Aires, 1951). Professor of History of America at the National Open University of Spain, and Senior Research Fellow for Latin America at the Elcano Royal Institute for International and Strategic Studies. He has written and edited numerous books on the history of Latin America, among the most recent being Populismos latinoamericanos (2010) and Historia de América (2010). He presently combines his work as a historian with that of Latin American political and international relations analyst. He is head of the Latin American section of the review Revista de Libros.
