Publisher of Profile Books, one of Britain's leading independent publishers. Twelve years ago he set up the company which is committed to publishing original, stimulating and challenging non-fiction. In 2007 Profile acquired the distinguished independent (and independent minded) publisher Serpent's Tail, publishers of Montalban, Rafael Reig, and The Last Patriarch (Ramon Llull Award 2008) by Najat El Hachmi.

Andrew Franklin's authors at Profile include Alan Bennett, Francis Fukuyama, Lynne Truss and Slajov Zizek. Before Profile, he was the Publisher of Hamish Hamilton, part of Penguin, for six years. He is a trustee of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, and the Jerusalem International Book Fair. He writes occasionally for the British press and early on in his career wrote two travel books.
