Enric Cucurella (Barcelona, 1974) studied Philosophy at the University of Chicago. He worked as a reader for Carmen Balcells' literary agency for three years until in 2004 he set up the Alpha Decay publishing house together with Diana Zaforteza (Barcelona, 1978).
The two editors are convinced that the current world situation, since the invasion of Iraq, imbued by the spirit of Porto Alegre and globalisation, will produce a new literature of counterculture. Their editorial line comprises four collections: Alpha Bet & Gimmel, based on Michel Foucault's idea about philosophical connection and counterculture; Alfanhuí, for the publication of previous unpublished materials; Alfaneque, representing African classics from the 1960s, and Alpha Partícula, devoted to scientific essay work.
