A graduate in Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, he is currently Director of the Structural and Computational Biology Programme of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). He is also a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). He has published a great number of papers, and has participated in several projects that aim to bring science to society, among them his work with Santiago Ortiz and Luis Rico (MediaLab, Madrid) in the GNOM project.
