Adam Krzeminski
(Radecznica, Poland, 1945). A journalist and editor since 1973 of Polityka, Poland's most influential weekly, he studied German Philosophy in Warsaw and Leipzig and has specialised in present-day and historical issues pertaining to the relations between Germany and Poland. He has been awarded a number of prizes for his contributions as a journalist, among them the Goethe Medal (1993), the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (1996) and the Polish PEN Club Essay Prize (1999). He has published a book of essays on twentieth-century Poland and another book dealing with Polish-German relations.
