Peter Whitehead, United Kingdom, 1965, 33’, OVS. EnglishDocumentary on the 1965 Albert Hall Poetry Festival, which more than seven thousand people attended to see prominent members of the Beat Generation such as Allen Ginsberg (reading a poem by the Russian poet Andrey Voznesensky), Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Gregory Corso, and others like Ernst Jandl, Alec Trocchi, Adrian Mitchell, Michael Horovitz, Christopher Logue and Harry Fainlight, who reads a poem about LSD. Through cine-vérité, Peter Whitehead makes the spirit of the era of the Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock shine through living literature.
