The Process of Creating a Documentary
The training department of the Tercer Ojo association is organizing the seminar "The Process of Creating a Documentary".
"The Process of Creating a Documentary" will analyse the procedure by means of a series of screenings and conversations, based on the experience of the director Javier Corchera.
The seminar is aimed both at professionals and students of the genre and explores a broad field that is also accessible to the public. It comprises 4 classes, each lasting 4 hours, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The award-winning documentary-maker Javier Corcuera has directed "La espalda del mundo" (The Back of the World), "La guerrilla de la memoria" (The Guerrilla of Memory) and "Invierno en Bagdad" (Winter in Baghdad), among others.
"Why use real characters, photographs and memories to make a film?
Let's say you have a valuable archive, an interesting character, an event or a unique interview-how do you go about constructing a story?
In this seminar, we will analyse the process of creating a documentary film, reflecting on ways of working to tell stories constructed of snippets of reality."
