The Pit and the Pendulum
Marc Lougee, Canada, 2006, 7’4’’, OVCS.An adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's story of the same name produced by the master of "kinetic sculptures", Ray Harryhausen. Using marionettes and techniques such as stop motion, the story revolves around the idea of a trial, sentencing, hope and eventual redemption. The main character faces the dilemma of deciding what is more terrifying: death itself, or the way we face it.
