The Paris Review… Early Chapters [Premiere]
Paula Heredia and photographed by Albert Maysles, United States, 2001, 53’, OVSS.In the summer of 1953, three young Americans, Peter Matthiessen, Harold Humes and George Plimpton, founded The Paris Review. Designed to receive the avant-garde in writing and poetry of that time, its work has continued until today. In it can be found interviews with T.S. Eliot, Truman Capote, William Faulkner, Georges Simenon, Isak Dinesen and Ernest Hemingway. The documentary filmmaker, Albert Maysles, gets behind the camera and Paula Heredia directs to gather the testimony of its founders as well as its early contributors.
