Poetry Slam Barcelona

On 23 February, Barcelona Poetry Slam celebrates the close of the 2012-13 season, coinciding with the third anniversary of the city’s regular slam championship. On this occasion, it involves the participation of the top eight in the general table; the current champion, Marçal Font; three guest poets, and the winner of the 2012-2013 season will be chosen.

50% poetry, 50% performance, the poetry slam is a poetic contest with a lively, dynamic, participatory format that creates a new relation between the public and the poets. Barcelona Poetry Slam is a platform for contemporary artistic creation centring on the word. The project combines the word and the stage at the centre of a new cultural offer, using the slam and the spoken word.
