ONE DAY ON EARTH

Premiere in Barcelona simultaneously with over 50 countries worldwide

One Day on Earth is a documentary and media project about the incredible diversity, the conflicts, the tragedies and the triumphs that take place in a period of 24 hours on the face of the Earth. More than a film, One Day on Earth is a collaboration project that includes multiple platforms, including a vast archive created jointly by people in every country in the world.

On 10/10/2010 and 11/11/2011, in every country in the world, a day in the life of its people was recorded by professionals, students and citizens inspired by the objective of documenting ten causes: poverty, environment, education, gender equality, human rights, migration and refugees, health, humanitarian aid and child welfare. The next occasion that everyone is invited to take part in will be 12/12/2012. We’ll be sharing the result of this project on the Internet: http://archive.onedayonearth.org/index.php/videos.

creates a snapshot of humankind by recording a period of 24 hours in every country in the world. Using the footage filmed on 10/10/10, it explores the greatest diversity of perspectives ever seen on screen. The film portrays characters and events that evolve throughout the day, intermixed in a global montage that takes in major difficulties, tragedies that occur the length and breadth of the world, and doses of optimism and hope that, together, we can achieve a better future.
