Lecture by Chris Salter
Composing Sensation: From Sensors to SensationWithin the context of te Art Matters International Conference, Chris Salter —one of the most innovative artist-thinkers of his field— will show us his work and ideas about visual arts, art and sound, dance, theatre, performance and interfaces, and his vision as the Director of the Hexagram Concordia Centre of Research and Creation in Media Art in Montreal.http://chrissalter.com/
This talk explores through a series of recent research-creation projects, the manner in which new forms of sensing technologies engender new forms of sense making and sense experience. I will focus on three recent works, Ilinx, Displace and Atmosphere which play with scrambling and disrupting common assumption of how we make sense within so-called immersive or responsive media environments.
