Le carnet rouge (The Red Notebook) [Premiere]

Mathieu Simonet, France, 2004, 15’, OVSS.

An adaptation of The Red Notebook (1993), the book where Paul Auster notes all the coincidences of those that were victims and executioners in the form of paragraphs of "anecdotes" or short stories. In the book he reviews thirteen such strange events to elaborate upon them. In Mathieu Simonet's adaptation, a woman begins to look for the "red notebook", a strange book she hears about on the radio. Finding the book will only be the beginning of another search.
