Hari Kunzru

Literature and Revolution: 40 Years On

Starting out from a reading of his latest book, My Revolutions (2008), Kunzru will analyse the idea of committed literature from a contemporary perspective. What is the relationship between politics and literary writing? Does the idea of revolution still have any sense in today's world, whether it is from the standpoint of the artistic avant-garde or that of radical political change?

Taking the May '68 Revolution as his starting point, Kunzru sets out to explore how idealism became violence and ended up as indifference.
