Dust [Premiere]

Marion Hänsel, Belgium and France, 1985, 87’, OVSS.

Adaptation of the work In the Heart of the Country by Nobel Laureate J.M. Coetzee. At an isolated African ranch, a young man tries to communicate in vain with his father, a silent and authoritarian colonist. The weight of Africa's poverty and drought can be felt throughout. With Trevor Howard and Jane Birkin as the main characters, the film received the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1985.
