Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige film in a region of the world discovered by television in recent decades, but which is hardly recognisable in "cinema country that does not appear on any geographical map". The Lost Film is the exploration of a place (Yemen, after 11-S) in which cinema does not exist. In Je veux voir, they invite Catherine Deneuve to travel to Beirut in southern Lebanon, a country in ruins after the war between the Israeli army and Hezbollah: with this "chemical formula" (Deneuve + documentary shots of Lebanon) they are moved by the conviction that the "cinema icon" of the actress will not be devastated by the natural stage and will rekindle possible fiction in a territory in which reality was overwhelming with the corpses and the missing, in a History devoid of histories.
