Reading club on the Pepe Carvalho novels

This club explores the narrative world of Manuel Vázquez Montalbán and the setting that this author, so at one with the people of Barcelona and at the same time so universal, created for his character, the detective Pepe Carvalho.

 

We analyse the influence these novels have had on the noir genre and on contemporary Spanish narrative. At the same time one will address the relation between the Carvalho cycle and the rest of MVM's oeuvre, especially his poetry, essay writing and other novels not featuring the famous detective.
