Dies de dansa 2009
XVIII International Festival of Dance in Urban LandscapesAn initiative that came into being in Barcelona and now takes place in over 30 cities around the world, Dies de dansa (DDD), the International Festival of Dance in Urban Landscapes, is now in its 18th year. For five days, buildings, parks, streets and squares come to life in a meeting of dance, publics and urban space. The aim is to familiarize all audiences with the wide variety of contemporary dance languages, free of charge, to extend choreographic work in the urban space and to generate debate and reflection on the theme of public space. Accordingly, some of the projects proposed by national and international dancers have been specially created for their specific venues. DDD forms part of the Barcelona Grec Festival.
Every night, the Pati de les Dones courtyard at the CCCB will host "Space in Motion" in the framework of Dance Days, a festival of short pieces, music, talks, improvisations and screenings. This space also forms part of the Saturday evening programme.
