Lecture by Seyla BenhabibWhat does it mean to be a citizen today? How do we acquire the right to belong to a political community? What is the link between rights of political participation and civil and social rights? Is it possible to speak of economic citizenship? Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at Yale University Seyla Benhabib will be reflecting on the instability today of the concept of citizenship in Europe, at a time of a radical increase in inequality, mass migration and the decreased ability of nation states to regulate their own borders.
