Asia at Home, a Family of Communities

Plaça dels Àngels and Plaça CorominesPati de les Dones del CCCBMACBA

Asia spreads into every corner of the host squares... Two concerts featuring international performers: Leonard Eto, a Japanese percussionist, and Abrar-ul-Haq, a singer recently arrived from Pakistan. A catwalk showing clothes and accessories, both traditional and the latest in present-day fashion, with a chance to try them on. Henna painting, Nepalese makeup and Vietnamese manicures. The grand Japanese master Masayoshi Kazato will be revealing the secrets of sushi. There’s also Filipino hip hop, a demonstration and the chance to practise aikido, haka and yoga, and the sound of the drums of the Chinese School of Badalona. The temple of orality with stories, the space for new-borns, the playground, with boduk, cricket and Ki-o-rahi, and Asian cinema round up a programme that introduces us to the diversity of Asian cultures.
