Apuntarse a un bombardeo
Documentary directed by Javier Maqua, 2003, 93', video. Produced by Geno tv.Apuntarse a un bombardeo recalls the time spent by the ‘Mohamed Belaidi' brigades in Iraq, following the stories of five of the seven brigade members who stayed in Baghdad until the entry of US troops.
Apuntarse a un bombardeo talks about solidarity among peoples against fascism and imperialism, about feelings of love for the Iraqi people, about powerlessness in the face of the aggressor; ultimately, it talks about the need to be united in the face of the new world order.
Teresa Tuñon, the sexagenarian brigade member who offered her home for the making of part of the film, explains that they went to Iraq in accordance with their consciences, because they wanted to be ‘consistent' with their ideas of freedom and justice. The film aims to ensure that their work in Baghdad ‘is not forgotten, because what is still happening there, and in many other places in the world, is an absolute injustice to civilians'.
