Does Poetry Have a Future?

The winner of the National Russian Poetry Prize 2005 questions the
future of the genre in a session where he analyses the role played by
poetry in Russian culture, its relationship with the language and
possible causes of the genre's crisis. He accompanies these reflections
with readings of his poems, a mix of observation of the everyday and
philosophical thought, and with special memories of Joseph Brodsky, who
described him as one of the best Russian lyrical poets.
