Pat O'Neill

Experimental filmmaker

Pat O’Neill (1939) studied design and sculpture at UCLA. He was a pioneer of the introduction of computer-generated graphics into film, a technique which he used in his very first film, By the Sea (1963). He was also a co-founder of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) School of Film/Video in the early 70s. He is the author of an extensive, innovative film oeuvre.
