Marçal Sintes

Marçal Sintes (Vilafranca del Penedès, 1967), a journalist and writer, was the director of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) from 2012 to 2014. He holds a degree in Communication Sciences (UAB) and a PhD in Journalism and, until December 2011, directed the Journalism Department of the Blanquerna Communication Faculty (Ramon Llull University), where he lectures. He also has a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE and was co-founder of Dèria Editors publishing house. As a journalist specializing in political current affairs, he is a regular contributor to El Periódico de Catalunya, Catalunya Ràdio and COM Ràdio. He has published the books Periodistes contra polítics (2011) and Què pensa Ernest Lluch (2001). In 2010, he won the Trias Fargas Political Essay Prize and, in 1995, the Premi Recull prize in the biographical portrait section.
