Jose Valenzuela Ruiz

Engineer and Doctor in Humanities, he is an expert in neuroscience, engineering, literature and virtual reality.

Jose Valenzuela (Terrassa, 1982) is a doctor in humanities, an electronic technical engineer, an engineer in automation and holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering, an MBA and a master’s degree in literary creation. He has worked as a laboratory engineer in the Group of Nanomaterials and Microsystems of the UAB and in the Cognitive Neuroscience Research Group (Brainlab) of the UB. He has also been project manager in the innovation area at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and at the neuroscience and virtual reality laboratory Eventlab.

Following a stint in creative production at VISYON, he now divides his time between teaching, writing and criticism in cultural media such as Jot Down Magazine, the Magazine del CCCB Lab and Revista Leer, creating content for publishing companies such as Norma Editorial and enterprises such as Grupo Cappuccino, and as a copywriter and scriptwriter on an independent level. He forms part of different cultural research groups and has written two books: La biónica (2018) and Todos nacemos locos (2018).
