Àlex Argemí

Àlex Argemí is a biologist and holds a master’s degree in Scientific Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University and in Translational Medicine from the University of Barcelona. He is head of Communications at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), a CERCA research centre in which the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona also participate. For more than ten years he was head of Communications at IDIBAPS (August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute), another CERCA research centre linked with the Hospital Clínic, the University of Barcelona and IIBB (Institute of Biomedical Research)-CSIC. He sees himself as a scientist who, instead of working in a laboratory, does so from the trenches of communication. Amongst others, his task consists in helping researchers to find channels and messages to make their work known to society in general.
