Xperimenta is a two-yearly proposal in which several experts from around the world (including teachers, cinema producers, programmers, distributors and archivists amongst others) gather in Barcelona to discuss current questions of experimental cinema. Three days to feel the pulse of generational, technological and epistemological changes of the last decades.

From 2.23.09 to 2.26.09
An opportunity to experience the possibilities of the cinema projector as a creative tool. Addresed to those ones who have a basic knowledge of artistic cinema and video.
From 2.26.09 to 3.1.09
Six film sessions presenting the most noteworthy or recent works by participants in the round tables also organized as part of Xperimenta09.
The directors of the films will give a presentation and, after the screenings, discuss the films presented with the public.
From 2.26.09 to 2.28.09
Four round tables are the venue for participants to present their opinions about the current state of experimental cinema: lines of creation, activism and political engagement, and a review of the history of this form of cinema.
The discussions are illustrated by the screening of the participants’ most noteworthy or recent works.
