Jonathan Safran Foer presents Comer animales

On Wednesday 11 May at 7.30 p.m., the CCCB hosts another literary event: the launch of Comer animales, the Spanish language version of Eating Animals, the non-fiction work by Jonathan Safran Foer, one of US literature’s best young talents today and author of the successful novels Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

Comer animales, published by Seix Barral, is a provocative look at the subject of eating, which Safran Foer began when he found out he was going to be a father; his thoughts about how to feed his child led him to investigate what we eat and how we eat it. Combining philosophy, literature, science and his own detective work, the author explores the origin of our eating habits, revealing the price that the environment and the Third World pay in order to satisfy our appetite.

Live videostreaming from 7.30 p.m.
