1,000 m2 of desire

Desire and Subversion

Lecture by Marta Segarra

Debate

Lecture by Marta Segarra, professor of French literature and Gender studies at the University of Barcelona.

Ever since Freud’s theories were embraced as “common sense”, people have tended to think of desire and sexuality as liberating forces, capable of changing social norms and, accordingly, the ideological systems underpinning them. But is desire subversive? What is the relationship between desire, love and sexuality? Of what do they consist and where are the “politics of desire” leading us?

Presenters: Meri Torras
